Description
- As an instructor, it is important to have your computer setup so that is easy to see from a distance when projected in the classroom.
- If you are going to teach a Paratext Course, I recommend following the steps described here to setup your computer for teaching.
- Here are some suggestions to make that happen. These should work for Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
Increase Screen Magnification
- Go to the Control Panel.
- In the upper-right, search for display.
- Click on Make text and other items larger or smaller.
- Choose 150%.
- Click Apply.
- Logoff your computer.
- Logon to your computer.
- Test these settings on the projector you will be using, in the room you will be teaching.
- If the text is too large from the back of the room, try 125%.
Increase Mouse Pointer Size
- Go to the Control Panel.
- In the upper-right, search for mouse.
- Click on Change how the mouse pointer looks.
- In the Scheme drop-down, choose the Windows Standard (Extra Large) option.
- To avoid confusion, it is best to use a Standard scheme rather than Aero, Black, or Inverted.
- Click Apply.
